Sector for Promotion and International Cooperation
Head: Tanja Orel Šturm tel.: +386 1 369 59 22 email: tanja.orel-sturm(at)gov.si The Sector for Promotion and International Cooperation covers the promotion of Slovene culture and international cooperation on bilateral, multilateral and on regional level as well as the development and evaluation. The goal is quality recognition of Slovene culture and of the Slovene state in the world. The tasks of the sector are:
- organising the promotion and coordinating all activities for international cooperation,
- coordinating and preparing groundwork for international cooperation, cooperating in the preparation of international framework agreements and programmes, and preparing inter-ministerial bilateral cooperation programmes,
- directing Slovenia’s international cooperation in multilateral international organisations and in other multilateral connections (Council of Europe, Unesco),
- directing Slovenia’s international cooperation in various regional initiatives (Alpe-Jadran, SEP, JJP, etc.),
- cooperation with diplomatic-consular representations of the Republic of Slovenia abroad and with diplomatic-consular foreign representations in the Republic of Slovenia,
- coordinating and executing advisory, organisational, communicational, analytical, evaluation and planning sections in the Ministry’s bilateral and multilateral regional cooperation with other state and international organisations,
- preparing strategies for bilateral and regional cooperation,
- advancing and preparing promotional strategy abroad for Slovene culture and Slovenia in cooperation with other ministries, diplomatic-consular representatives, performers of cultural activities and other organisations,
- comparative analysis of the promotional strategies of reference states,
- collecting, recording and strategically analysing new initiatives within international cooperation,
- managing records on the execution of projects in the area of international cooperation,
- monitoring and supervising the execution of international and inter-ministerial bilateral agreements and programmes,
- evaluating international activities in the area of promotion, in bilateral, multilateral and regional cooperation,
- monitoring Slovenia’s cooperation in the Culture 2000 programme and its continuance programme,
- coordinating, executing and evaluating special projects within the framework of international cooperation,
- preparing tenders for cultural projects within the framework of bilateral and multilateral promotion of Slovene culture abroad, as well as monitoring the course and results of the projects,
- developing budget proposals for bilateral and multilateral promotion of Slovene culture abroad,
- cooperating in the preparation and execution of joint European projects,
- cooperating in the execution of tasks within the area of international cooperation on culture,
- executing tasks falling within the area of international promotion of Slovene culture.
