The Chamber of Culture of Slovenia is a voluntary organisation of the rank societies that also allows membership of civil natural and legal persons, if they carry out cultural activities. The Chamber monitors and assesses the impact of the cultural policy on the cultural development, gives opinion on the national program for culture and annual reports on the implementation thereof, discusses proposal of laws and other regulations from the field of culture and those related to it, and gives initiatives and proposals for governing individual issues from the field of culture. According to Article 43 of the Act on Enforcing Public Interest in the Field of Culture, the Chamber proposes members of councils of public institutes and gives opinions regarding the right to the payment of social security contributions of self-employed persons in the field of culture.
